Real Wedding Story: Caitlin & Mitch

Every wedding has special qualities that make them memorable, but even more so when the wedding is that of a good friend! Caitlin and I have been friends since middle school and I was thrilled to be able to help her and Mitch with their wedding day. Caitlin, an art teacher and Mitch, a firefighter, wanted to create a wedding atmosphere that emulated their personal tastes and that created interest for their guests as well.

The Garden Theater in Detroit was the backdrop for their boho-industrial October wedding ceremony and reception. The venue's exposed brick walls, metallic accents and stage setting worked perfectly with their edgy centerpieces and table settings. English Gardens set the scene for the ceremony with floral hoops hanging from the stage trusses along with mixed centerpieces for the reception featuring deep fall colors and greens. The bride also accented the reception with colored mercury glass votive candles, amber up-lighting, geodes and feathers. We loved everything about their fall boho wedding vision and worked to carry it through all of their elements. Another important aspect to the couple was having a rockin' dance floor! 1, 2 Step Entertainment kept the dance floor packed all night long right up until the very end. Guests stayed fueled for dancing with one of the couple's favorite snacks; Jet's Pizza and could also take a break at their photo booth.

All of the little moments throughout the day from Caitlin & Mitch's first look, to reading their vows, to their cake cutting and first dance, it was beyond evident how in love these two are. They also weren't afraid to have fun with each other and laugh through out their day, really taking time to enjoy it.

Congratulations Caitlin & Mitch, you guys are awesome!
